I've had some cute videos that I've meant to put on, but never did. I'm going to try one tonight. Daniel and I were at the park and I wanted to catch some animal noises... He is adorable. My favorite is the tiger, although the dog is still really cute. To add to his repertoire he can no do elephant noises (mostly just spitting) and he learned cat tonight! Yeah Daniel! Now, if he could just say something besides bubbles... :)

Such a cutie!
Yes, yes, I am well aware that I have become quite lazy at updating this blog. My apologies... I have taken up some extra work which takes up a lot of my extra energy. I will try to be better... I'm sure that everyone is dying to see how cotton-picking cute Daniel is getting, right?? :) Well, here you go!

Daniel has mastered lots of animal noises, his most recent being the elephant. And just yesterday he started saying "bubbles" as I was blowing them for him. He is a talented walker, although he struggles with wearing his shoes. His feet are so darned fat-- I think that the only pair that we have for him is simply too uncomfortable. Barefoot isn't going to work in another couple of weeks... It's getting cold!
Danny loves giving hugs and isn't afraid of giving them to anyone and everyone in his path. We were are at our Ward Luau last weekend and Daniel and this 2 1/2 year old were in a 2-minute long embrace. It was absolutely adorable and everyone around them loved the show. Danny is a pretty hefty kid, though, so sometimes his hugs get a little overwhelming... More kids than I can count start crying when they see Danny coming their way. The wusses just can't handle a REAL hug from my little boy... :) All I know is that I abolutely LOVE getting his sweet hugs. I don't ever want him to grow up...
I'm just rambling right now, but this is passing for a journal entry... Daniel has one molar completely in, and the three others have poked through, but still have a ways to go. And now his fang teeth are coming in! No rest for my poor little kid! He looks so much older with his full mouth of teeth. I love it! It's tricky brushing them, but we do our best.

Life is grand in the Tomlinson home. We hope that everyone is well and enjoying the coming Fall... We sure do!

Nebulizer time!
Daniel went in for his 15-month check up last week when he had a lingering cold. His Doctor checked out his wheezing cough and decided that he needed a dose of the "Nebulizer". Because the treatment worked, she prescribed it for us to take home. Now Daniel gets his dose of "happy air" at least three times a day and he's been much better. It's great fun for all of us! He's almost 100%, though, so I guess we'll have to put it away until his next cold... :)
FYI, I was just released today from my Young Women's calling and was put in as the Nursery leader! They timed that out just perfectly, didn't they? Daniel enters the Nursery in November! I am so excited to be serving in the Nursery. John is already serving there and we have great kids... It'll be a lot of fun! I'm going to really miss our young women and especially the leaders, but I am excited to be able to spend the day with my family.
Some Soda Pictures...
Well, I finally dumped my pictures from our trip to Soda. We really did have a great time. Daniel went golfing for his first time. Really, he just drove around on my lap while my Dad took in nine holes, but he had a great time. He loved the bumps and the pond with ducks (really just a water hazzard...) He also drove his first ATV with Daddy, but I don't know how to put up video yet. (And too lazy to figure it out!)
Recently Daniel has been sticking his tongue out at people rather than smiling or blowing kisses. We hope that passer-byers don't get offended to see this kid sticking his tongue out at them. As his mother, I still think that it's adorable. :) Really, everything that he does is pretty cute.
Pa and Grandma Martineau had a great time having Daniel in their midst. Mom was mostly bedridden, but he enjoyed reading time and Game Show Network. Dad was poor Mo puppy's savior when we were there. Daniel loved attacking that little fur ball!

We're baaaaaaaack!
So, I'm back after what felt like a two year Sabbatical to Soda Springs. Daniel and I went to help out my mom after she had a hip surgery (her fourth). It was a lot of fun! We watched Baby Einstein, ate lots of food on Pa and Grandma's dime, went on long walks, visited local historical sites (on the 8th hole of the Soda golf course you actually ride in the same grooves left by the pioneers when crossing the Oregon trail-- very cool!), ATV'ed (Daniel absolutely LOVED that!), and hung out with family... It was grand.
While there, Daniel terrorized the family maltese, Mo. The poor dog didn't stand a chance against the girth of Danny boy... Daniel also learned how to make the sound of a horse, and perfected his doggy "bow wow". He's quite the little whipper snapper!
Anyway, we're back and I'll work on adding some pictures to the website sooner than later...

Mama's big helper

Little Danny boy has decided to be our little helper. I'm not sure how much "helping" he actually does, but it's the thought that counts, right?? :) He is very helpful at pulling out dishes while we're loading the dishwasher, and he's fantastic at grabbing the clothes out of the hamper when we're trying to fold them.
Honestly, Daniel can get into EVERYTHING now and do anything that he wants. I did not stage Daniel in the dryer, for example, he did that all by himself! He had quite the fun time too! I wish that they had adult size dryers to play in!

Water Park Fun!

So, I don't know how the temperatures have been in your neck of the woods, but it's been smokin' hot here in Idaho. Honestly, we're breaking records right and left and it's killing me! I like SOME heat, but I hate having to stay cooped up in our house all day long. (Daniel hates staying home too-- we have a small house!)

In order to get some fresh air, we went to a local water park. It has water toys, sprayers, and misters that come out of the ground in all shapes and sizes. It's fun for all! (I even took my Young Women there last week). Daniel is pretty brave. He thinks that he's a big kid and jumps right in. He's so cute to watch.

This particular day, Danny had two ladies that couldn't keep away from my little man. They were a little older, but Daniel doesn't mind. What is particularly funny about this picture is that they are playing with the water drain, NOT the actual toys or sprayers... I guess when you're that age, it just doesn't matter.

After a nice long splash in the water, it's time to go home... :)

We have a walker on our hands!

Although Daniel has been standing and cruising quite proficiently for the past several weeks, it is now official-- Danny can walk! His first step happened when we were in California on vacation. He took two clumsy steps and fell down. Now he can take up to 20 steps without falling! He's amazing! Granted, he doesn't like to walk all the time because he can definitely get around faster on his knees, but he is constantly trying to better his form and walk further and further distances. I thought that my house was baby proofed before, but we've now entered another realm of danger... Oh dear! This picture shows Daniel reaching his final destination-- his toys!

Family Bath?

One of Daniel's favorite things to do is bathe. Well, I don't know if he enjoys the bathing as much as he enjoys the splashing and drenching everything (and everyone) in sight. We had him sitting in one of those "bath seat" thingies ever since he could sit up, but he is just way too big for it now. So, he is free in the bathtub!!! Pretty scary for the person bathing him-- he's impossible to control!

If he's not trying to stand up in the slippery tub, he's grabbing every shampoo/conditioner/soap bottle nearby. Who needs bath toys when you have 16 bottles of semi-empty conditioner bottles, right? Daniel loves to splash and have fun. Needless to say, bath time is a cleansing experience for everyone involved... :)
